Mum is nearly on her feet
Thanks for all your well wishes for Mum, she had her op on Tuesday and I went to see her Tuesday night, she was remarkably bright for someone who had just had a hip replacement but she was pretty drugged up too but thankfully not in any pain.
Because of all the virus's that have been about the hospital is on limited visiting hours of two two hour slots and strictly only two to a bed so I didn't go last night or tonight because she has that many friends.
They tried to get her out of bed yesterday and she passed out so they put her back in and left her to sleep most of the day.
I have rung tonight and she has been sat in a chair most of the day and also managed a little aided walk and the sister said she is much better today.
It's really quite strange not having her at the end of a phone, we sneaked her mobile in because it costs 49p a minute to ring from the hospital system but I haven't heard from her yet.
I have taken Monday off because all being well she should be home Sunday, they don't let them out until they can walk so fingers crossed she has a good couple of days with the physio and we should have her home.
I had to come home from work on Tuesday because I couldn't concentrate on a thing, she has never been in hospital before and she was absolutely terrified and I was worried sick.
She has also been fitted with a ceramic implant which they don't really do for older people but when her consultant asked her what she wanted to be able to do afterwards she said she wanted to be able to walk the dog and get up the steps at the KC Stadium and the ceramic one apparently is provided to people who are very active.
I can't wait for her to be able to do all those things again she has been so depressed not being able to get out in the garden.
In the meantime I am still undecided on the job front I think I will just hang it out until the event is over and hope I haven't left it too late.

Oh Emma your Mum seems to be doing well, which is great and I know it'll make you feel heaps better about everything.
Hope you have a great Valentines Day even though your heart isn't entirely in it.
Still thinking of you and your Mum!
Si - Thanks I really do appreciate your thoughtfulness it means a lot..xx
So glad to hear your mum is doing well and on the road to recovering from her operation! I can understand you being worried, I’ve been there so many times, and it’s only natural. Its good she has such a caring daughter! Take care chick xxx
It stands out to me that she is considered active, and thats gonna be a great thing for her recovery. Another great sign is that she is depressed by being housebound - she will heal quicker, she sounds determined.
xxx
Wishing her loads of luck and hoping she'll be able to come home at the weekend. It sounds like she's doing great!
So glad your mum is doing well and that she got her active plate, your mum is now on the way to being bionic mum.
Moose, IT, Miss, Joie, thanks for your concern she had a bad day yesterday but she has just realised the enorminity of it all I think.
She was trotting about with her frame last night though like a good un..xx
I am so glad to hear your mom's surgery went well. I will keep my fingers crossed that her recovery goes very smoothly and she is back to doing the things she loves soon.
Sending you a big hug too Emma.
