Boobiethon

Some of you might be wondering what the new avatar and the above picture is all about, well earlier on in the year Evening was diagnosed with breast cancer after a routine mammogram and this woman is amazing, I had been reading her blog for sometime prior to her diagnosis and even then she was the most wonderful woman, her writing is moving, emotional, thought provoking, sensitive but most of all very funny at times.

The way she has stood up to this has given me the inspiration to say feck it to the world and live and enjoy each and every minute.

She could have just laid down and let it take over her but she didn't she just keeps fighting it every day even after a bilateral mastectomy she still has a smile on her face for everyone to see, I love the light in her eyes every time she poses for the camera and she looks better every day.

Evening please accept this:

So in the light of this she put a request in to her blog friends across the globe to support this years Boobiethon and along with her own new site all the boobies are there to view.

You can see them here now and from the 1st October on Boobiethon.

The new avatar is my contribution to everything Evening and many others go through every day.

So if you haven't posted your own boobies you can do so now, men can also contribute it's not just a woman thing.....

Let's all show our support for a horrible disease.....

Love the bra! I hit the boobiethon button yesterday, and my computer crashed, so don't want to risk putting it no my blog, but I may put up a picture tonight and dedicate the post to this one.

EMMA, I have tears in my eyes reading this. Thank you so very much for the kind word and the award. Really, I have gone through so much less than many cancer patients, I am not sure I deserve all your praise but thank you.
You know when I asked for help and pictures, you were the second person to send me it. You stepped right up to the plate and I want to thank you for that. You are an incredibly giving person. You have supported me since the first day of this and that has been a great gift to me.
I send you my love and hugs and my gratitude.

Ehhhh I might post a picture myself. I lost an Auntie to Breast Cancer back in 1988, I can still remember seeing her in hospital, the hospice and all the visits yet she still kept smiling for the sake of her two young children.

I have a friend who last summer was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time in 18 months. I have unfortunately lost touch with her as our children have grown up and are nolonger at school. she is a battler so I know she will fight it all the way. She also supported me through my cancer. It is 6 years tomorrow since I got the all clear.

well done you for being such a support to evening.

I have been touched by cancer so many times in my life in some form or other it was the least I could do, Mum has a friend at the moment who was given six months to live last week also she like Evening was a total workoholic, never asked anyone for anything and the life and soul of the party, it is just so sad to see her now even though she is still always positive....thanks gals xx

when I was told I had cancer all I could think of was that it meant I would need to take a few weeks off work.......in the end that few weeks was 9 months.
its strange the things we think about in these situations

Wayne - Thanks and there is no reason for you not to bare yours you know...xx

Si - Thanks very much

Lady - I haven't been there but I can only imagine I would think the same....but without our health we can't do anything so we have to treasure it and look it constantly..xx
